Electronic pop trio Toyen Airport consists of singer Ingrid Tolstad, electro-rock-chic Sunny and mathematician-gone-TV-infotainer Jo Røislien. The three met on a bar crawl in London in 2007, eagerly debating the proper height of heels, retro synthesizers and distorted drum beats. A few weeks later the trio found themselves in Siberia, playing a gig in an abandoned hangar, eating dried reindeer meat and bathing in vodka. The trio has since repeatedly taken their hooky pop tunes to Eastern Europe, from the catwalk of Moscow Fashion Week to Estonian radio stations.
